Focusing on your happiness

Erik & Sylvia

Posted by Marcus Edwards on September 15, 2009

Erik and Sylvia had a nice quiet and intimate wedding at the Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch, surrounded by some close ones. But not everyone could make it. Sylvia’s family and friends are back in Germany. But her son was the ring bearer and was was there to offer his support!

I believe there may be a trip in the future for this couple, maybe back to Germany to visit her family and friends. And I’m thinking they might have another ceremony while out there. How cool would that be? To get to marry your spouse twice, each time on different sides of the globe?! Very cool.

Their wedding had 4 Loveland Wedding Professionals involoved!

Keith and Elsa tied the knot!

Posted by Marcus Edwards on September 14, 2009

Keith and Elsa had a great wedding at Pelican Lakes Country Club in Windsor.

This country club is a great setting for a wedding. They got married on the island.  Right when the bride started her walk towards the groom, the clouds came in. Makes for some really great pictures when that happens!

They had a great turnout. Both had a lot of family and friends there to support them. The reception was a hit. These folks know how to dance!

Justin & LaDonna

Posted by Marcus Edwards on September 2, 2009

Justin and LaDonna came all the way from Albuquerque to get married here in Loveland.

These two are nuts about each other!

Although I’m not going to have the opportunity to photograph their wedding this weekend due to another wedding, I was given the chance to take their portraits for them!

I was asked to pick out a nice place to do this and so I chose Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch in Loveland. You can see why below.

They liked it too obviously because they booked it for their reception!

These two are getting married at the historic McCreery House in Loveland and then will have their wedding reception at the Sylvan Dale Guest Ranch.

I wish that I could have photographed their wedding for them too. Dang it! I just haven’t figured out how to be in two places at once yet. I’ve got to work on that!

You can see more photos from their session on my Facebook page.

Josh & Sayde

Posted by Marcus Edwards on August 31, 2009

Josh and Sayde have a lot of family and friends and most of them are scattered across the country.

But that didn’t hold them back.

Their family and friends traveled from from Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and New York for this wedding.

And it was worth the trip.

They’re two of the nicest folks you could meet and it was clear why their family and friends came so far for them.

Their wedding was held at a beautiful church in Evergreen and the reception was held at the Echo Mountain Ski Resort in Idaho Springs.

Below are just some of the photos from their wedding day!

Some Rockin’ Seniors

Posted by Marcus Edwards on August 23, 2009

Sean and Amy are some rockin’ seniors.

And they mean business.

Sean is the rhythm guitarist for the one and only, Snake Alley Driver. He is loaded with talent. You should hear him play. He’s really awesome. He also plays the violin in his schools orchestra.

Amy is the real deal. Just look at her photos. She was  striking poses like a pro model. I was really excited to when I learned she wanted something edgy for her senior portrait. Something different.

I had a lot of fun photographing these two. They’re two of the coolest seniors I know.

Rocky Mountain High School should be proud!

Jason Vigil

Posted by Marcus Edwards on August 13, 2009

I had the opportunity to photograph Jason Vigil and his band a few years back at a live outdoor performance in Loveland. Last night, I enjoyed his show while I captured him performing again, this time at the Soiled Dove Underground in Denver.

Jason sings very passionately along with his acoustic guitar. His style could be described as light hearted alternative pop.  He has a wonderful voice and is very approachable. He was very humble as fans came up to him after his performance wanting to meet him and give him well deserved kudos for such a great show.

Make sure you try to catch one of his shows and pick up one of his CDs. He’s got a great sound and plays in some really great places!

After Jason was finished playing, I got some nice shots of him and his guitar.

While this was going on, the next performer had taken the stage and was playing to the crowd. Colin Hay was the singer and I’m sure you’ll remember him from the band he used to sing for called Men at Work. He put on a great show and sounded just as great as he always did!

Loveland High School – Class of ’89

Posted by Marcus Edwards on August 11, 2009

Adrienne lives in Costa Rica. She went there on vacation some time ago and fell in love with the place, so she stayed.

So this past January, Adrienne contacted me from Costa Rica to shoot this very important 20 year high school reunion. And it was from Costa Rica that she coordinated this entire event. She did an amazing job and everyone had a great time, including the photographer!

She planned this reunion to span 3 days.

Day one was a friendly mingle hosted by Daisy Dukes in Loveland

Day two was the main event held at the Ptarmigan Country Club in Windsor. She provided me an actual photo taken at their prom 20 years ago and asked me to recreate the background. Done! She also made arrangements with the Loveland High School to send out their marching band and cheerleaders to put on a show! The rest of the night included dinner, dancing, a slide show, and prizes, and a lot of catching up.

Day three was a big picnic at Lake Loveland. They all brought their families, their kids all played together, and between the family portraits, I just hung back and captured the moments.

Al & Melissa

Posted by Marcus Edwards on August 10, 2009

Al and Melissa are so crazy about each other, they married each other twice, in the same year.

I shot their first wedding in the spring. It was a quiet, intimate wedding up in Estes Park. But they wanted a big wedding too.

So they planned the “main event” for July. A very close friend of theirs offered their home as the setting, and it was the perfect setting.

This wedding was also packed with members of the Loveland Wedding Professionals!

We all had a great time contributing to this wedding!

Keith & Elsa

Posted by Marcus Edwards on July 8, 2009

Keith is thinking things out and doing things right.

He took Elsa up on top of the world to propose to her.

In Colorado Springs, there’s a place on top of Cheyenne mountain called the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun and let me tell you, it’s got one hell of a view!

This is where Keith proposed and this is where they wanted their engagement photos taken. It was clear why.

These two are mad about each other and their August wedding I already know is going to be a great one.

Francisco & Amanda

Posted by Marcus Edwards on July 6, 2009

A small town.

A big family.

A lot of friends.

A lot of huge smiles and warm hugs. That’s how this couple does things.

Francisco & Amanda’s wedding was a huge success. They had a great wedding, tons of support, and the reception was a hit. I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot many weddings in their culture much and I really had a blast being a part of it.

And the music….fantastico!
